AI menu import
Upload the menu you already have — photos, a PDF, a CSV or a spreadsheet — and get a draft of menus, sections, dishes, descriptions and prices to review. Pick which dishes to add; nothing changes until you apply.
At a glance
- Where to find it
- back-office › Settings › Menu › Menus › Menu Assistant › Import file
What's included
Edit and proofread your menu in plain English
Type a change like "add an apple juice to Beverages, $3.50" or "86 the House Red" and review exactly what will change before it applies. Proofread finds typos and writes missing dish descriptions for you to accept one by one.
Create your business
Search for your business or its street address on Google and the name, address, phone, website, hours, place type and price level fill in where Google has them. Three steps — find, confirm, hours — then the business is created.
Open the Menu Assistant at the top of Settings › Menu › Menus, attach your files with Import file (or drag them in) and send.
- Photos and PDFs are read by AI. CSV and spreadsheet files are read column by column.
- Limits: up to 10 files, 5 MB each; photos and PDFs up to 5 files and 12 MB together. One import is either photos/PDFs or spreadsheets, not both.
- The draft shows each menu, section and dish with its description and price. Dishes already on your menu are marked Exists, new ones New. New dishes start selected; use New only, All or None, then Apply.
- Applying adds new dishes and updates the ones you selected; it never deletes anything already on your menu.
- Import covers menus, sections, dishes, descriptions and prices. Modifiers, photos, taxes and kitchen printing are set up afterwards.
- Selflane saves a copy of your menu before applying. The owner can restore it from Sync within seven days.
- Recent imports stay listed so you can reopen a draft.
There is no charge for using it. Daily limits apply (about 20 imports per business per day).
