Create your business

Search for your business or its street address on Google and the name, address, phone, website, hours, place type and price level fill in where Google has them. Three steps — find, confirm, hours — then the business is created.

Anyone with a Selflane account can create a business from the Back Office. Sign in with email and password, Google or Apple.

Three steps

  1. Find the business — one search box takes a business name or a street address. Pick a Google listing and Selflane fills in the address, phone, website, hours, place type and price level. Not on Google yet? Search your street address instead; only the location is filled in.
  2. Confirm the details — business name, place type, cuisine categories (restaurants), price level, email, phone, website and suite or unit. Anything Google filled in is marked from Google; your edit wins.
  3. Opening hours — set one regular week. Holidays and one-off closures come later.

Progress is kept as a draft in your browser, so closing the window does not lose what you typed; nothing is sent to Selflane until you click Create business.

What you get right away: the business record, owner access for your account, and empty settings for POS, reservations and loyalty. Menu, payments (Stripe), staff, tax and devices are set up afterwards.

Duplicates: if a business with a similar name already exists at the same address, Selflane stops and asks you to get access from its current owner instead. A separate business in the same building adds its suite or unit number.

Selflane reps and partners can create a business on an owner's behalf, and can create it as a test business that stays off every public listing (see demo conversion).
